Why Every Household Needs Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

By Kathleen Evans

When it comes to hair care, some people are fortunate enough to be able to buy anything off the shelf and still look good. However, those who suffer from dryness and split ends may spend a lifetime looking for the right products that are affordable. More people are discovering that using organic extra virgin olive oil will save the day.

While some may see a difference with a single application, it may take others a few applications. Those with noticeably damaged hair may find that cutting the ends and starting fresh with a new routine can make styling a lot easier. This is common with people who regularly use chemicals or live in extreme climate temperatures.

While this oil is not ideal for cooking with high heat, it does make an excellent salad dressing base. Other ideas may be for marinating fire roasted vegetables or cooked pasta. There are many good recipes that can help an individual lose weight or prevent a chronic condition from becoming serious. Many Mediterranean dishes call for the use of extra virgin olive oil and fresh vegetables.

The best way to test hair for natural moisture is to use the float test. Place a strand in a clear cup of water and see whether it floats or sinks to the bottom. Experts say that if the strand remains floating after a few minutes, it is not porous enough to benefit from most over the counter products. Another way to tell is by running fingers through different sections of hair to see if ends, or other areas, change in texture.

The minimal processing of this oil helps to retain all of its pure properties. This is why less expensive oil types may require adding extra ingredients but adding this is really a waste. By heating enough of the virgin oil for a single application and letting it sit for at least a half hour, coarse hair will be soft to the touch.

Since some countries have strict standards when it comes to labeling something as organic, it helps to do to a little legwork. Online review sites can be helpful, as well as natural health forums or blogs run by reputable consumer figures. Whatever the choice, a wise tip would be to not be lured by low prices because the product may not be what it seems.

The best way to get the most savings from any oil is to buy in bulk. Most natural or specialty grocery stores have this in large volume or are happy to place a special order. There are also online merchants that can assist with getting enough for several uses shipped out within a day or two. This is a lot more economical than driving around looking for trendy brands that are only good for a couple of applications.

Hair care should not be costly since everyone deserves to have a mane that is clean and a scalp that is not overly dry with the use of commercial shampoo. Not everyone has the money or time to visit a salon regularly but there are many things they can do that cost just a little bit of money. Any hair texture or type can be easy to manage when it is properly moisturized.
